BINDU REVIEWS (continued)
"With the great passion that is evident in every note of music, DeMaria has proven his ability
to enrapture the soul and lighten the spirit….The swirling blend of piano, pipe, ambient music and percussion merge
to create a delicate melody that takes an inner journey to the soul…The harmonies and composition are flawless. It
was a long cool drink of water for the soul and just the Zen I was looking for. I can’t recommend it highly enough."
- Dana Wright, Muzikreviews.com
"DeMaria recently received his fourth Grammy nomination, and I would expect Bindu to earn him his
fifth in 2012…Although the album presents a journey and a progression, each of the ten tracks is distinctive and tells
its own story through the use of ambient sounds, keyboards, Native American flutes, and voices. I highly recommend it."
- Kathy Parsons, Mainly Piano
"Michael Brant DeMaria elevates his musical artistry of ambient/new age fusion to the upper echelons on
Bindu, a mesmerizing journey inward into soundworlds that can propel the open-minded listener to the heart of his or her own
essence. As one of the first releases in 2012, it already must be considered a shoe-in for making most reviewers' Best of the
Year lists…The album showcases the artist's considerable synth and keyboard talents. Whether crafting abstract ambient textures,
tonalities, and percussive effects, or using loops or samples of instruments or voice, DeMaria is staking a claim as one of the
best at this kind of music… the music itself is masterfully realized and recorded and could easily be enjoyed simply on its
own merits by fans of the ambient, spacemusic, and/or new age genres, it's easy to see why Bindu comes highly recommended. I
believe it will be one of the highlights of 2012. Rating: Excellent"
- Bill Binkelman, Zone Music Reporter
"Michael's music is pure magic, there's no doubt about it... the opener, "The Way Beyond" is among the best tunes
I've ever heard him perform (& believe me, I've reviewed almost every one of his releases)...if you're down, this will bring you up into
the light! My favorite piece on this 10-song (nearly 60 minute) excursion is "Tripura Sundari", it's like watching a universe expand and
unfold right before your ears! I give Michael my MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, with an "EQ" (energy quotient) rating of (the top) 5.00
out of 5... he also gets the "PICK" of this issue for "best and most original new-age".
